Spring Food Events in Philly

Brewer's Plate 2013
Not sure about you, but we're ready for spring. Let's make today's snow/sleet/rain the end of it and bring on the tulips. Springtime will bring the end of cold and - even better - the beginning of food event season. Brewer's Plate helped kick it off last weekend with a packed house of local food/beer pairings. We tried as much as our stomachs could handle and posted the highlights in photos on Facebook.

We've been hearing about all sorts of other food-related events coming up and wanted to share a few more that look fun:

Beer Cakes Philly and Collaborate Philly created this new event to benefit Philabundance and pay homage to our awesome local beer culture. Local breweries Forest and Main and 5 O’clock Brew as well as Philadelphia home brewers will serve beer; Spodee will provide wine/beer cocktails; local chef Dan Berlin of Bongo Zepto brewery will make an all beer-centric food menu; and Beer Cakes Philly will provide beer-infused desserts. There will be live music, a raffle, a free tour of Yards Brewing, activities like “Cream Your Own Cupcake,” and many more to guarantee that no one leaves without a Beergasm. Well, heck why not! $40 for tickets

On Saturday, look for their truck on Christian St. where you can get free samples of Paesano's sandwiches and be filmed participating in a contest for the messiest and most delicious food. Why not, right? Maybe you'll get on TV and if not, in the meantime you got FREE PAESANO'S. Did we say free?
