2011 Philly Beer Week Cheat Sheet

This Friday is the official start of Philly Beer Week, a ten-day celebration of beer. You can find hundreds of beer and food tastings, special firkins and meet-the-brewer events on the Philly Beer Week event page. The list is endless and you will surely find it difficult to narrow it down to a few go-to events.

We created a cheat sheet of events we thought readers might enjoy. It will be nearly impossible for us to attend all of these, but we hope to get to as many as we can and maybe see you there. Let us know the events you plan or want to attend in the comment section.

Have fun, drink safely and enjoy the best beer celebration in the U.S.

Capone’s: Meet the Brewer: Ballast Point, 12:00pm - 3:00pm.
Our one event for the suburbs (though many are scheduled), we are highlighting it since we recently had a Ballast Point IPA that was excellent. Those who cannot make it into Center City can get a taste at this event and meet some folks from Ballast Point.

South Philadelphia Tap Room: Lefthand Arm Wrestling Tournament, 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Left Hand Brewing Co. favorites and rarities will be on tap along with Left Hand sales rep Dan Conway. While you drink you can join or watch a lefthanded arm wrestling tournament. The tournament begins at 9pm.

Kite and Key: Throwdown in Franklintown Round 2, 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Celebrate some of the best homebrewers in the region and meet Philly’s favorite radio hosts, WMMR's Preston and Steve. We are big fans of their morning show.

Philadelphia Urban Adventures: Philly on Tap Walking Tour, 5:00pm - 7:00pm
A tour of the Center City and some of best local bars and beers. Starts at City Hall and ends at Rittenhouse Square. Learn a thing or two along the way.
