Ba Le was from Chicago and their sandwiches were really good in Chicago, but here I don't even bother wasting my time with any of the sandwich shops here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2151528697309366718.post-71184072500197761072011-06-13T22:35:41.369-04:002011-06-13T22:35:41.369-04:00QT is just plain bad. There are some passable ones here and there, but QT definitely ranks in the bottom half.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2151528697309366718.post-23523164078834381592011-06-13T22:23:20.171-04:002011-06-13T22:23:20.171-04:00the lemongrass tofu is actually quite good at QT. ...the lemongrass tofu is actually quite good at QT. also try banh mi at cafe diem on south 7th, near washingtonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2151528697309366718.post-4100990533927461002011-06-13T18:12:39.125-04:002011-06-13T18:12:39.125-04:00you need to order the banh mi thit nuong, which is...you need to order the banh mi thit nuong, which is the grilled pork. the "house special" normally consists of vietnamese style meats and pate, which has an acquired taste. the banh mi thit nuong will be good for any palette and then of course, it needs to swim in the red rooster sauce.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2151528697309366718.post-15930359991203114472011-06-13T17:26:00.636-04:002011-06-13T17:26:00.636-04:00Agreed on the recommendation of Cafe Houng Lan. As a result it is really dependent on the ingredients. Usually the fresh veggies and herbs add a little kick to the sandwich but it is definitely the bread that makes it and most places bake their own - homemade baguettes when done right are great.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2151528697309366718.post-40561631004069273002011-06-13T11:41:07.494-04:002011-06-13T11:41:07.494-04:00i've never quite understood the allure of the ...i've never quite understood the allure of the banh mi. sure it's different, but it's not for me i guess.alberthttp://messyandpicky.comnoreply@blogger.com
